Practicing your emergency plan just makes good sense. By law you have to practice your plan under the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 and the General Risk and Workplace Management Regulations.  Annual testing ensures that processes and actions undertaken by staff in the event of an emergency are practicable and effective.

Last week two of our staff had the pleasure of facilitating Alfa Laval’s first aid response for the caustic product they have on site.  QEC applied a fake caustic burn to one of the workers.  During the walk around the worker playing the burn victim called out in pain and the Alfa Laval first aid team responded to the incident.

A debrief was conducted after the event.  The workers at Alfa Laval made some fantastic observations and suggestions for improvement in regards to their procedures.
